After a busy Christmas Season, a fairly crazy New Year at least work wise, March finally rolled around and my sister, mother and I had the opportunity for a quick escape and a few days up in Seattle. It's wonderful to have good family, and great to have good friends; but sometimes we are truly blessed and get to have people in our lives that happen to fit both descriptions. I am lucky enough to have that. It was such an enjoyable trip albeit a quick one.
After working all night, and packing fairly quickly, my fiance dropped us off at the train station. After a beautiful trip up, we checked into the elegant Hotel 1000. While walking around enjoying the sights and sounds of downtown Seattle we found a wonderful dinner at 94 Stewart. The next day was shopping, walking, observing an adorably cute baby bulldog trundling down the streets of Pike Place Market; and finally a wonderful dinner at The Dahlia Lounge - let me just say if you have a chance order the doughnuts - just trust me on this, at least if you want a piece of heaven. We enjoyed breakfast the next morning at Lowell's in the Pike Place Market, while overlooking the ferries on the waterfront. After a fun morning at the market it was back to the train station and home.
