San Diego - August 2007

Sometimes there are moments in life that years later we can still remember so clearly.  This trip holds so many of those moments for me. From getting out of the car after the long drive from Portland to San Diego and feeling the hot sun seep into my skin, to getting bowled over by the surf while trying to learn to "turtle-turtle", to running along the Coronado Beach finding fuzzy purple live Sand-dollars and watching dolphins frolic in the waves just off shore.  It was an amazing adventure and one I enjoyed immensely.

Enjoying the dolphin show at SeaWorld

So you might guess where my nickname comes from if you could see the collection of Seastar's that I have... But holding a real one - So Fun!

Jennifer and I waiting for the Bat Rays to come over.
These friendly little fellows love people! They were so fun to pet and play with and they follow you as you go to leave it's somewhat sad actually, makes you feel guilty for going off without them in tow, granted that would be a heavy tank :)

Next to my love of seastars and all things starfish Manatees come in a very close second. So sad that the exhibit was closed when we were there. Someday hope to go back when it's open!
So my mother thought this might make a good Christmas Card... What do you think?
And yes the sign does say:
"CHILD SWAP"
"Please wait here"
