The Christmas Tea that wasn't to be... - December 2009

The following photos are from one of those days that things just don't work out - at least until the end! My mother, sister, and I had made reservations weeks ahead for the Christmas Tea at the Viewpoint Inn; very looking forward to the event we drove down the gorge only to find out that it had been canceled :(  After taking some photos we decided to drive out to Skamania Lodge - only to get stuck in very bad traffic... very bad! To get from the Corbett exit to the Cascade looks took almost an hour - for those of you that know this area - this probably normally takes less than 10 minutes! By the time we got there lunch was over - dinner wasn't to start yet. We ended up eating happy hour in the bar next to the fireplace which actually ended up being wonderful - the food was great and we had homemade apple cider. Not exactly the tea that we had planned but still very festive and in keeping with the Christmas Spirit!
